Highlights:
- The POWDER team recently secured two new research awards, including one focused on 5G Open RAN from the National Science Foundation Convergence Accelerator Track G program, which is conducted in collaboration with the DOD OUSD R&E.
- With a new grant from NSF, the COSMOS team out of Columbia Engineering is launching an Engineering Research Center for Smart Streetscapes in collaboration with multiple university and community partners.
- The AERPAW team successfully demonstrated a smart agriculture use case combining a custom AERPAW drone with a 5G connection enabled by an Ericsson base station and 5G NSA core. Speeds were measured at more than 100 Mbps upstream and 450 Mbps downstream.
- Significant construction work is now underway for the ARA platform, with both fixed base stations and a variety of client sites in the preparation stage for equipment deployment.
